COVID-Organics, or most known as CVO, is a bottled drink derived from Artemisia plant that widely grows in Madagascar. It is a plant used for a wide range of medicinal purposes across Africa’s country. In some studies, other species of the said herbal plant proved to contain anti-malarial properties as well.
According to the makers of the herbal product, CVO promises to both cure and prevent COVID-19 infections. It was said that all trials and tests conducted were effective and reliable in eliminating the signs and symptoms of the Coronavirus. However, not all people are interested and convinced by the new COVID-19 cure. And despite the government’s consistent promotion of the herbal product, the world has no interest in it. Because aside from having only a little available information about the herbal drink, the World Health Organization and other big pharmaceutical companies see no relation of this herbal medicine in curing the COVID-19 virus. That is because there have not yet been any scientific proof that the herbal remedy can surely cure patients with COVID-19 infections, let alone prevent people from getting infected.
However, since April 22 of this year, the CVO Company already handed out the herbal products for free to most schools in Madagascar. It has become a requirement for all students to consume it. The schools’ principals and heads agreed to the obligatory consumption because they believed it is their duty to introduce and encourage students to appreciate the benefits of the said herbal remedy. And for the parents of the students, well not all of them instantly agreed on the obligatory consumption. Other parents are still hesitant until now, while some already allowed their kids to try it.
The Current Status Of The Herbal COVID-19 Remedy
It was believed that Madagascar’s Academy of Medicine already warned the public of the products’ mass distribution. Health professionals emphasize that there is no scientific evidence that proves the drink to be effective. And at some point, consuming it will more likely cause actual health problems, particularly to children. The academy was firm on their stance on that one, but not after meeting with the president. And now, they managed to provide a different approach to CVO. That the academy does not entirely oppose the use and consumption of the herbal product, however, they pointed out that they leave the judgments to the people and reminded them to submit to compliance with an indicated dosage. That is mainly for children.
